Supports from Fallujah, Melancolia, Body Prison, and Psycroptic, metal heads were truly in for a wild night. As I arrived, Fallujah was closing with some hefty, crushing fury that kept the audience at the edge of their seat for the opening act.
Cattle Decapitation successfully slayed the ready rockers at the Metro Theatre on Friday night. These Californian death grinders would find themselves shouting “CUNT” the entire night, incorporating the Australian vocabulary.
Stage divers galore! The entire night was met with dives from the audience ranging from smaller women to older men. It was indeed an exciting sight to see.
Playing songs from their latest album, Terrasite, The band sounds as solid as ever, with vocalist Travis Ryan looking frenzied as he continues to prove that he is unparalleled and conjures the audience’s attention. More melodic sections on Death Atlas were used in significant effect in the setlist, with songs such as Bring Back The Plague and One Day Closer To The End Of The World being emphatically sung back towards the stage by the adoring audience before them.
The front row of the audience, screaming word for word along with Travis, tells a thousand words with their facial expressions alone, proving that the fans’ love and adoration are genuine.
